Privacy and cookies
With ULEZ Checker there are no accounts, forms or cookies. Your browser reads your number plate, and it's never sent to us or stored. All that ever reaches us is an anonymous visit note, which never says who you are.
Who runs this site
ZoneGate Mobility Ltd, 1 St Katharine's Way, London E1W 1UN, United Kingdom, runs ULEZ Checker. As data controller, ZoneGate Mobility Ltd is responsible for any personal data described here. Anything in this notice can be raised with us in writing at that address.
How the checker uses your details
Your browser is where the checker does its work. The month and year get filled in by the browser once it reads the age numbers on a plate you type. We never receive your plate, no one else does either, and it isn't saved anywhere.
In its local storage, your browser keeps what you picked before, whether that's fuel, month, year, vehicle type, tax class or Euro standard, and it stays on your device so you type less next time. Inputs for the tools on other pages are stored the same way. It's not a cookie, and none of it ever comes to us. Your browser's settings let you clear it whenever you like, under site data.
Cookies
No cookies are set, and we use no outside analytics, advertising or tracking company. That's why you don't see a cookie banner. The local storage on your device just remembers your own tool inputs, which the feature you asked for strictly needs.
So we can count visits, a small script of our own reports back at four moments: when a page opens, when a reader lingers on it for a few seconds, when someone clicks out to another website, and the first time the checker or a page tool gets used. Each report carries the page address, phone or computer, the referring site and the name of the tool. Our host adds a country, which we keep, while the IP address is dropped. Plates, years and anything else typed into a box never travel with it, and nobody else receives it.
What gets recorded by our host
The servers delivering these pages keep short technical logs for each request, as on every website: the IP address, the user agent, the requested page and the time. These logs help keep the site running and secure, and the host deletes them on its normal schedule. Running a secure website is our legitimate interest, and that's our lawful basis.
Your rights over your data
You can ask us under UK GDPR what personal data we hold about you, and you can have it corrected or deleted, object to our use of it or ask us to restrict it. Any such request can go by post to 1 St Katharine's Way, London E1W 1UN. We don't hold your plate or an account, so the host's request logs and those anonymous visit notes are the only data we might have.
Complaints about our handling of your data can go to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Updates to this notice
Before any change to how the site handles data takes effect, we'll update this page.
